Tasked with revamping an existing web app for university professors and administrators, we took a legacy system and transformed it into a seamless, user-friendly experience. This platform enables faculty to access historical bibliographic data, assign materials to new academic cycles, and modify content through an extensive catalog of millions of records.

One of the key challenges was improving the app’s usability while ensuring compatibility with an existing data infrastructure. Our approach combined modern technologies with intuitive UI/UX design to create a more efficient and accessible tool for educators.

PSh’s Role: A Full-Scale Redesign and Beyond
We were brought in to completely rebuild the front end of the application using ReactJS and other satellite libraries, prioritizing UX/UI enhancements and introducing new features that were never part of the legacy version. Over time, as the impact of our work became evident, our role expanded:

Front-End Overhaul – Implementing a modern, responsive interface to improve navigation and workflow.
Scalability & Performance – Enhancing speed, security, and maintainability through industry best practices.
Dedicated QA & Back-End Support – Growing our team from 8 front-end developers to include 3 QA specialists (automation & functional) and later adding a back-end developer to build new functionalities beyond the legacy system.
Framework & Methodology Definition – Establishing the foundation for sustainable growth, selecting the best frameworks, libraries, methodologies, and performance optimizations.
Design System Integration – Leveraging a client-provided Design System to build a reusable component library, ensuring consistency across multiple digital products and applications.
